VATUSA ZAB Order 7210.1003 - Visiting & Transferring Controller Policy Date: 02-10-10 Version 2.00 1. PURPOSE a. This policy establishes the procedure for controllers wishing to visit or transfer in ZAB. 2. DISTRIBUTION a. This policy is intended for use by ZAB Administrative staff and also serves as a reference for ZAB Controllers. 3. BACKGROUND a. The Albuquerque ARTCC wishes to maintain an active, concise and current roster of controllers in order to provide high-quality, well-trained, and experienced controllers. 4. REQUIREMENTS a. Joining the ZAB Roster i. Controllers desiring to visit in ZAB shall email the Air Traffic Manager requesting visiting controller privileges to begin the testing process. ii. Controllers desiring to transfer in ZAB shall be issued the appropriate tests. iii. The testing process will consist of a written test on VATSIM, local, LOA, SOP, and FAA 7110.65 material. iv. The Air Traffic Manager or Training Administrator may choose to use practical exams to augment or take place of written exams 5. The Air Traffic Manager shall have 7 days to review the application and begin the testing process. b. Position Certification i. Position certification shall be granted based on the rating of the applicant and the testing results, based on ZAB Order 7210.1001 ii. The Air Traffic Manager or his designate may decline a visiting/transferring application based on any/all of the following a. Disciplinary Record b. Test results in a failing grade c.
